Profession: English Teacher's Assistant
Teaching Experience: I started volunteering with English classes in high school. I've led supplemental instruction for Spanish speakers and refugee populations for a local non-profit since. I've been providing private tutoring in Spanish for about 5 years.
Most recently, I started an internship at the Nicaraguan North American Cultural Center in Nicaragua as an English teacher. I lead virtual classes of mostly high-level postgraduate students who want to learn English to advance their careers.
Interests: My family moved from city to city for most of my life so I have friends and family all over the southeast. I like singing, playing piano, spending time with my pets, reading/writing, and volunteering at my local wildlife rescue. I also enjoy teaching English and Spanish classes. A fun fact about me is that I almost always have some sort of strange animal that I'm caring for. Right now, I am raising a rescue rabbit.
Education: I'm currently finishing the last year of my B.A. in Spanish and B.A.ED. in Secondary Education from the University of South Carolina Upstate. I have a 120-hour TESOL certification from the International Open Academy.
Spoken Languages: English (Native), Spanish (Conversational)
