Profession: ESL Teacher - Conversation and Lesson based
Teaching Experience: I have 2+ years experience in ESL teaching for South Korean students, so I have a varied knowledge of Korean culture. I have taught both adults and children ages 10+. Since I have lived both in the United States and United Kingdom, I can help with both US and UK idioms and sayings. During a session, we can practice either business or general English conversation through the use of roleplay, pronunciation and/or grammar and vocabulary building. I am good at listening and giving positive feedback and encouragement. If requested, I can provide topics and lessons specific to the student that can be expanded through homework and future sessions.
Interests: I have a 19-year-old son with whom I play video games with, and I like being creative by working on my crafts, which include crochet, knitting and jewelry. I particularly like watching Chinese movies and K-Dramas. I am also currently learning Korean in my spare time.
Education: I went to Oregon State University, where I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts. The focus of my degree was history and cultural anthropology with a focus on Chinese, Japanese and Korean studies, and I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.91 GPA.
Spoken Languages: English (Native)
